Modern Slavery Policy

Last updated: 19/08/2026

Our commitment

Nic's Knacks is committed to conducting business ethically and with integrity. We do not tolerate modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, or child labour in any part of our business or supply chain, and we expect the same standard from anyone we work with.

About our business

Nic's Knacks is a sole trader business based in Carindale, QLD, offering face painting for parties and community events, and handmade pottery sold online and at Brisbane markets. As a small, owner-operated business, our supply chain is limited and relatively low-risk, primarily consisting of:

  • Face paint, brushes, and event equipment purchased from established Australian retailers and suppliers

  • Clay, glazes, and pottery materials and tools purchased from established Australian suppliers

  • Packaging and shipping materials

  • Website, payment, and business software platforms (Squarespace, Square, Australia Post)

Our approach

  • Supplier selection: Where possible, we choose to purchase from Australian-based suppliers and established retailers with their own ethical sourcing standards.

  • Ongoing awareness: We stay informed about the origins of the materials we use and will raise concerns directly with suppliers if any come to light.

  • Review: We will review this policy at least every 12 months, and sooner if our business grows, we take on staff or additional suppliers, or any concerns are identified.

Raising a concern
